Single Conversion vs. Dual Conversion |
| Much has been written about the
merits of Single and Dual Conversion receivers. It is generally accepted that 2
filtering or conversion stages are better than one. All JR receivers from the
basic R125 AM receiver to the top of the line R1000DS have a unique second
filtering stage fitted to them. JR's patented ABC&W filtering system does the
job in a JR receiver that a second conversion stage does in other brand
receivers. In simple layman's terms it works a bit like a 'maze' where the
signal is forced through the maze, going around corners and bends which
eliminates the unwanted signals. In many ways the JR approach is technically
better than dual conversion because 2 different techniques are used to
discriminate the good signals from the bad. Rest assured that using a JR single
conversion with ABC&W receiver gives you perfect reception; you will in no way
be disadvantaged compared to using a dual conversion receiver, and in many
circumstances you will have better reception. |
