Flying a HobbyZone Firebird XL is a lot like driving a radio control car. You're virtually guaranteed a successful, fun filled RC flying adventure. Thanks to its innovative Flight-Trak control system, your Firebird XL can be flown smoothly and accurately with just two simple controls: steering and throttle. The throttle provides for cruise, climb and descent; the steering means you literally "steer your airplane" left and right through the sky. 
The 900mAh NiMH pack consistently gives 15 minutes of flying time. 
Launch with a rolling take-off and shoot touch-and-gos.
Dual wing braces for the polyhedral wing and a light- weight composite spar rod. These work together to substantially strengthen the wing and help prevent any warping. The wing is further strengthened by a factory mounted wing cap on the trailing edge that keeps the rubber bands from digging into the foam on the wing. 
The Firebird XL features a latch and rubber band that holds the canopy shut in flight.
The 380-size motor in the Firebird XL packs quite a punch. In several of our test flights, a straight-out climb at full throttle for about 45 seconds would put the Firebird XL at about 600 feet and almost out of sight.
